What 𘞕 means
It is a Tangut character with a reconstructed reading, not a translation.
A Tangut lju entry in a dictionary index gives its reconstructed reading, roughly “lyoo”: l followed by the y glide in “yes,” then “oo.” That is a pronunciation clue, not an English definition; translating a passage needs a Tangut lexicon and the surrounding text.
Why does Tangut look like Chinese writing?
Tangut borrowed a Chinese-style model but writes a different language.
The Tangut script was created under the first emperor of the Western Xia state about 1036 CE for official and cultural writing in Tangut. Its surviving texts include official and private documents, books, Buddhist sutras (sacred teachings), inscriptions, and manuscripts.
After Western Xia fell, Tangut remained in use under the Yuan and Ming dynasties before becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming period. Chinese writing influenced its design, but a similar-looking form does not provide a Chinese reading for 𘞕.
How do I type Tangut?
Use a Tangut input method and a font with Tangut coverage.
In 2026, the community Rime Xunpin scheme documents reconstructed Latin transcription, stroke input, and Four-Corner input, which identifies characters by shapes in their four corners. These specialist methods are not ordinary keyboard shortcuts.
A Tangut-capable font draws the glyph on screen; typing the character and displaying it are separate steps. A font without Tangut coverage may show a blank or box even when the text is encoded correctly.
This belongs in Tangut texts, dictionaries, and digital editions—a specialist historical-script context.
The reconstructed reading lju is not a translation or a Chinese reading.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘞕 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

𘞕\18795Why is 𘞕 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
