What 𘟕 means
The Chinese gloss 梁 means “beam” or “girder.”
Western Xia commissioned the Tangut script in 1036 for government and to produce a collection of Buddhist scriptures. The script borrowed design principles from Chinese writing and followed the earlier Khitan writing system, but it wrote a different language. Tangut texts included Buddhist and Confucian works, military documents, reference books and literature. A Tangut manuscript from the Khara-Khoto site probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century.
