What 𝍋 means
Its image turns from removing harm to destructive excess.
Yang Xiong composed the book around 2 BCE as a divination classic modeled on the Yi Jing (“Classic of Changes”). It recasts that system as 81 four-line figures: each line can be solid, broken once, or broken twice, representing Heaven, Earth, or Human; each figure has nine short judgments. In 割, those judgments move from removing a harmful growth and fair division to cutting flesh to bone. The earliest surviving redaction is by Jin-dynasty scholar Fan Wang.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𝍋 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
