What 󠆼 means
It narrows glyph choices only inside a registered pair. In an ideographic variation sequence (IVS), a selector follows a base ideograph. The pair—not the selector number alone—restricts which glyph forms are intended for that character.
The Ideographic Variation Database (IVD) gives each pair a stable meaning, so plain text can preserve a glyph distinction that font choice alone may not preserve. Its first registered collection, Adobe-Japan1, groups Japanese glyph variants used in Adobe fonts and was registered on 2007-12-14; later collections address other communities’ needs.
Is there a registered IVS for VS205?
No; as of 2026-08-03, the IVD lists no registered pair using VS205. It therefore specifies no registered glyph variant for interoperable text.

Questions people ask
1Why does 󠆼 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
