What 󠇎 means
It marks a Han character's registered glyph variant.
An ideographic variation sequence (IVS) is a Han character—a written character used in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean text—followed by its selector. Use Variation Selector-223 with a Han character only when that exact pair is registered; that is how a particular written form is identified.
Why is Variation Selector-223 invisible?
An unsupported pair should leave no visible selector.
The expected fallback is the base character in its usual shape, with no visible mark. A font or text tool that supports the registered pair can show the requested form; a diagnostic “show hidden characters” mode may expose the selector for inspection.

Questions people ask
1Why does 󠇎 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Variation Selectors Supplement block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
