What 󠄪 means
It selects a base character's glyph variant only in a valid sequence.
A 2003 ISO/IEC 10646 draft listed VS59. Its purpose was to request a defined glyph variant in plain text. The IVD supports separate CJK collections for scholars, governments, and publishers.
The pair—not VS59 alone—controls the result. After a letter, emoji, or unsupported pair, the base stays unchanged and the selector stays invisible. The IVD file dated 2026-08-03 lists no registered E012A sequence.
Invisible technical mark; use it only in a defined sequence.
Do not send it alone.

Questions people ask
1Why does 󠄪 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
