What does ꒮ mean?
It is a Yi dictionary index mark, not a standalone word. It groups standardized Liangshan Yi syllable forms by shared stroke shape. The label “Yit” refers to the similarly shaped syllable form ꑱ.
Where did ꒮ come from?
Its history is part of an older, regionally varied Yi writing tradition.
The earliest known Yi inscription, writing carved or marked on an object, is dated 1485; undated manuscripts may be older, so that date does not date ꒮ itself. Traditional Yi writing varied by region and appears chiefly in manuscripts for ritual, medicine, and divination, the practice of seeking guidance from signs. The standardized Liangshan Yi system was developed in 1974 and officially promulgated in 1980. Its index marks were modeled on radicals used to look up Han Chinese characters, but group Yi syllable forms by stroke shape rather than meaning. ꒮ is a subsidiary form in group 18, alongside and .
A standalone ꒮ gives little conversational context: it is specialist Yi-script and dictionary-index material.
“Yit” names the similar Yi syllable form; it is not a word to translate in a message.

1Why does ꒮ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
