What 𞤉 means
It marks the E vowel in Fula words written in Adlam.
To type it directly, switch to an Adlam keyboard layout; a Latin E key enters a different character. Fula is called Pular or Pulaar in western varieties and Fulfulde farther east, so Adlam does not point to one country. Ibrahima and Abdoulaye Barry began devising the alphabet in Guinea in 1989 to write Fula sounds clearly. Before Adlam, Fula was written with Ajami—local languages written using Arabic letters—or Latin spellings.
Adlam is a separate alphabet, though Arabic writing inspired its right-to-left direction and joined letters. Handwritten lessons developed into books and digital text. Font releases from 2017–2024 show different drawings of Adlam E; a changed outline alone does not make it a different letter.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𞤉 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Adlam block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
