What 𐄈 means
It is the Aegean sign for two.
An earlier Cretan script called Cretan Hieroglyphic is attested in the 18th–17th centuries BCE; some related seals may date to the 21st–19th centuries BCE. These dates set the wider context, not the first appearance of this sign. Linear A and Linear B later used the Aegean numeral system but remained distinct scripts: Linear A recorded fractions, while Linear B grouped units for liquids, dry goods and weights. The system also connects to lower-value numerals in the Cypriot syllabary, a writing system used on Cyprus.
The Unicode proposal of 2001 named scholars as users of the series. A 2009 browser test found that display depended on installed fonts and browser selection; a box may mean that setup lacks this glyph.
