What 𐄻 means
It marks a weight subunit, not the Aegean numeral four.
Linear B was a script used to write an early form of Greek on Bronze Age Crete and nearby mainland; surviving tablets mainly preserve inventories and accounts.
Linear B’s whole-number signs descend from the older Linear A script, used around 1700–1450 BCE. The measuring systems differ: Linear B’s weight system uses units and subunits, while Linear A records measurements as whole numbers and fractions. Unicode 16.0 (2024) says the exact values remain unsettled.
