What ⍏ means
It returns positions that sort an array from smallest to largest.
An array is an ordered list. Uiua calls this upwards vane rise; it returns positions, not sorted values. Apply them to the list or matching records to sort by a key.
APL is a programming language for array operations. Kenneth Iverson's notation dates to 1957; the idea was first published in 1960, and APL/360 appeared in 1966. Its compact symbols express mathematical operations and algorithms. These dates trace APL, not ⍏.
Questions people ask
1Why does ⍏ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
