What 𞹴 means
It represents Arabic shīn in a distinct mathematical style.
Arabic formulas use letters for quantities or ideas; notation gives each its role. The stretched form is a deliberate distinction, not an ordinary letter widened by a font, and this character does not join its neighbors. The Arabic alphabet behind these forms has been used for centuries in manuscripts and traditional print. A 2006 W3C note describes regional differences: North African Maghreb and Middle Eastern Mashreq notation choose different letters for some functions and sums. In 2010, a Unicode proposal sought separate characters to preserve Arabic mathematical writing digitally.
