What ⏷ means
Linux uses Unicode entry; Word uses its AltX shortcut.
On Linux, press CtrlShiftU, type 23F7, then press Enter or Space. In Microsoft Word, type 23F7 and press AltX. HTML accepts ⏷ or ⏷; CSS strings use \23F7.
What does ⏷ mean?
It marks decrease or a downward-facing interface control.
A Unicode working proposal dated 2011-08-05 placed ⏷ in a four-direction interface set, assigning it the function “decrease” alongside controls for reverse, forward, and increase. The proposal presents the set as functional commands, so ⏷ reads as a control marker in a label.
Technical and compact, suited to labels and interface controls.
If “decrease” and “open downward” trigger different actions, add a text label.
