What ㆶ means
It marks a final k sound in Taiwanese Bopomofo.
It follows the vowel part and stops the syllable with k, without adding a vowel after it.
Bopomofo adapts Chinese-character forms to teach Mandarin pronunciation. Its core was created in 1913 and released in 1918; a 1998 extension added marks for Min Nan (Hokkien) and Hakka.
Should I use ㆶ or ㆻ?
Use ㆻ for the intended final-k sign.
Unicode 17.0 lists ㆻ as preferred. The error is visual: ㆶ has a small ㄎ shape; the intended coda uses small ㄍ. Both are Bopomofo consonant forms.

1Why does ㆶ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
