What 🗍 means
A blank file shown as a stack of pages. In chat, read it literally only when the message concerns documents; otherwise ask what the sender means.
Office-font iconography is its documented lineage. A 2011 Unicode proposal records the source label “tall file3” in a set of Wingdings/Webdings symbols and dates original Wingdings to Windows 3.1 in 1992. The proposal aimed to make symbols that had lived only behind font-specific codes—codes other systems could not reliably interpret—searchable and portable as text.
As of 2026, it has no standard chat reading. A 2021 suggestion read its three-page rendering in Noto Sans Symbols 2 as multiple browser tabs. That is a font-specific workaround, not a second definition.
Neutral in a file context; cryptic in casual chat.
With no document context, ask what the sender means.
