What 뱁 means
Its reading depends on the rest of the word.
In Korean, 뱁 is the first syllable of 뱁새, a name for a small bird called a crow-tit or parrotbill in English.
The 1798 Korean encyclopedia Jaemulbo (재물보) records the older bird-name spelling 뱝 beside the Chinese characters 巧婦鳥. The proverb contrasts 뱁새 with 황새, a stork: trying to keep up with the larger bird brings harm. BTS used the full word in a 2015 song about youth, hardship, and uncertainty.

Treat a message with only 뱁 as an unfinished fragment.
A lone syllable does not tell you whether the sender meant 뱁새 or its proverb. Ask for the rest before reading it as a joke or an insult.
Neutral inside a Korean word; alone, it reads like a fragment.
The warning about overreaching belongs to the full proverb, not to 뱁 alone.
