What 뺃 means
Use a Korean 2-set keyboard: ShiftQ, O, E. On the Dubeolsik layout, those keys enter ㅃ, ㅐ, and ㄷ; the Korean input method joins them into 뺃. If they stay separate, switch your keyboard input to Korean.
Hangul typefaces can draw the same syllable block with different component shapes or spacing; those design choices do not change the character.
Is 뺃 a normal Korean word?
It mainly appears in pronunciation guides. Brackets show a reading rather than ordinary spelling: 뺏다 is [뺃ː따], and 뺏기다 is [뺃ː끼다]. The mark ː means the first syllable is lengthened. The standard spellings keep final ㅅ (뺏); 뺃 writes the ending as it sounds in these guides.
Hangul was developed in 1443 and introduced in 1446 through the Hunminjeongeum manuscript, which announced the writing system. Hangul letters join into syllable blocks to write Korean speech. Earlier, the Idu tradition adapted Chinese characters to represent Korean words and grammar; it was an older way of writing Korean, not the source of this particular syllable.
A technical spelling used to show pronunciation in Korean references.
In ordinary Korean writing, use 뺏 in 뺏다 and 뺏기다; 뺃 is the pronunciation rendering.

1Why does 뺃 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
