What 뺈 means
뺈 is one written Korean syllable. Hangul groups component letters into blocks: an opening consonant, a vowel, and sometimes a final consonant. This block combines ㅃ ㅐ ㄽ; the parts spell a Korean sound sequence, while the surrounding word or sentence gives it meaning.
If someone sends 뺈 by itself, one syllable may not reveal their point. Ask which Korean word or sentence it belongs to.
How do I type 뺈 on a Korean keyboard?
On a Korean 2-set keyboard, type ㅃ, ㅐ, then ㄹ and ㅅ.
A Korean input method combines the opening consonant and vowel, then joins ㄹ ㅅ as final cluster ㄽ. On Dubeolsik, press ShiftQ, O, F, T, in that order.
When did Hangul begin?
Hangul was devised as a writing system for Korean. The Korean alphabet was first announced as Hunminjeongeum in 1443; an explanatory book with that name followed in 1446. It described building syllable blocks from an opening consonant, a vowel, and an optional final consonant, to write the language of Joseon, the Korean kingdom of that period.
Hangul's early history has a debated link to Phags-pa, a square-shaped script promulgated in 1269 for languages under Mongol rule. Some Korean scholarship proposes it as a possible influence; this is a proposed connection between writing systems, not evidence that 뺈 descends from a Phags-pa sign. After 1945, Hangul became Korea's national script.
Read it as Korean text; its role depends on the word it appears in.
Alone, one syllable gives too little context to infer the sender's point.
