What 뽐 means
No; bare 뽐 is not a noun meaning “brag” in modern Korean.
The origin of 뽐내다 is the Korean verbs 뽑다 (“pull out”) 내다 (“put out”): pulling an arm from its sleeve to show strength. Older forms appear in 1748 and 1775; the final ㅂ of 뽑- changed to ㅁ before the initial ㄴ of 내다, with changed spellings in 1756 and 1768. By the 20th century, the verb was used without naming an arm and had broadened to boasting.
뽐내다 can describe showing a skill or criticize conceit; context decides.
A bare 뽐 isn’t a verdict of bragging.

1Why does 뽐 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
