hangul syllable bbyet

Hangul Syllable Bbyet

4926/11172

뼽 is one Hangul syllable, named bbyet, not a full word with a fixed meaning by itself. Hangul’s creation was recorded in 1443; the 1446 guide Hunminjeongeum explained a script designed to make Korean easier to write and learn.

What 뼽 means

The Hangul syllable bbyet is one block. Its three jamo (letters) are ㅃ, ㅖ, and ㅌ: initial consonant, vowel, and final consonant. “Bbyet” is a romanization of the syllable, not a translation.

The same script is called Hangeul in South Korea and Chosŏn'gŭl in North Korea; these are regional names for the writing system, not meanings of 뼽.
