What 벣 means
Read 벣 as a syllable, not a message. It combines initial consonant ㅂ and vowel ㅔ. Its ending, called 받침, is ㄳ: two consonants closing the syllable. In a Korean word, the block contributes one syllable. “BEGS” is Unicode’s component-based label, not a translation.
Hangul’s origin is recorded in 1443; its explanatory book, Hunminjeongeum, appeared in 1446. The alphabet was created to make Korean writing accessible without first learning Chinese characters.
The name Hangeul became widespread in 1928, after earlier names including jeongeum, eonmun and gukmun.

Questions people ask
1Why does 벣 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
