What 붣 means
One Korean syllable; its word or name supplies meaning.
It joins ᄇ (starting consonant), ᅯ (vowel), and ᆮ (ending consonant)—Hangul letter parts called jamo.
Why was Hangul made?
To make Korean easier to write and learn.
Hangul’s creation was recorded in 1443; a guide called Hunminjeongeum explained its design in 1446. Before 1443, Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal adapted Chinese characters to write Korean or guide Korean readings. Buddhist texts used Hangul in its early years; practical and literary texts followed. It became official for government writing in 1894.
