What 벃 means
Use a Korean input method and enter ㅂ, then ㅒ, then ㅎ. The input method editor (IME) joins an initial consonant, a vowel and a final consonant in that order. These separate Hangul letter parts are called jamo. If you already have the canonical jamo 벃, NFC normalization can recombine them into 벃.
What does 벃 mean?
벃 is one Hangul syllable, not a word by itself. It contributes a sound inside a Korean word, whose full spelling carries the meaning. If someone sends it alone, ask for the surrounding word or sentence; this block gives too little context to identify the intended word.
When did Hangul take shape?
The document introducing Hangul was promulgated in 1446. Before Hangul, Korean writers used Chinese characters and adapted systems such as Idu and Hyangchal to write Korean. These systems drew on Chinese characters to represent Korean; the new alphabet was created to make written Korean closer to everyday speech and easier for more people to learn.
Early Hangul appeared in royal, Buddhist, farming, ethical, military and administrative texts. A 2009 Korean linguistics study proposed that the Phags-pa script, another writing system, influenced parts of Hangul’s vowel design. That proposal concerns the alphabet’s design, not a direct source for this syllable block.
Neutral as Korean text; alone, it gives too little context to identify a word.
Treat it as a Korean syllable, not a complete message.

Questions people ask
1Why did 벃 turn into separate jamo?
That is canonical decomposition: NFD separates the syllable into 벃, while NFC recombines those letter parts into 벃.

벃\BC83Why is 벃 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
