What 뱚 means
It is Hangul text, not an emoji.
As of September 2026, it has no established standalone Korean meaning or fixed chat convention.
If someone sends it alone, read it as a text fragment or input test; ask for context before reading a mood into it.
Why does this syllable exist?
It is one Hangul syllable assembled as a single character.
Hangul was designed to represent Korean speech more directly and make reading and writing easier for people who had relied on Chinese characters. It was created in 1443 and officially introduced in 1446.
Hangul syllables are built from component letters called jamo: ㅂ is this block’s initial consonant, ㅑ its vowel, and ㄿ its final consonant cluster, two letters used together at the end. A 1930 Korean spelling revision added ㄿ among the available final spellings.
How do I type 뱚?
On a Korean 2-set keyboard, type qifv.
On the Dubeolsik layout, q enters ㅂ, i enters ㅑ, f enters ㄹ, and v enters ㅍ; the input method joins ㄹㅍ as final ㄿ and composes 뱚.
Neutral Hangul text; its syllable shape does not mark the sender’s tone.
Do not treat a lone block as a reaction; ask what the sender intended.

Worth knowing
- Byalp is Unicode’s romanized label for the component sequence ㅂ ㅑ ㄿ; it is not a Korean word or the keyboard sequence.
Questions people ask
1Why does 뱚 look different in fonts?
It can. The encoded syllable stays the same, but Hangul fonts draw its strokes differently; if a font lacks Hangul coverage, the system may show a fallback or a missing-glyph box.
