What 촿 means
It represents a syllable, not a fixed word meaning. Its parts are ᄎ (initial ㅊ), ᅪ (vowel ㅘ), and ᇂ (final ㅎ); these Hangul jamo spell “Cwah.”
Why is 촿 written as a block?
Hangul letters combine into Korean syllable blocks. King Sejong devised Hangul in 1443 to write Korean with a sound-based system; the explanatory Hunminjeongeum appeared in 1446. “Hangeul” appears in records by the early 1910s and was widely used by 1928. Unicode’s Johab set contains modern Hangul blocks. 촿 also has an equivalent joining-jamo sequence; Unicode normalization converts between them, and fonts may shape components differently. Older syllables may use jamo sequences alone.

Questions people ask
1Why does 촿 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
