What 챲 means
It marks a Korean syllable, but has no word meaning by itself. Hangul blocks combine jamo, the consonant and vowel letters used to write Korean. The Unicode name “Cyabs” describes the block’s component sequence rather than translating a Korean word.
Hangul was designed to let people write Korean directly and learn its writing system more easily than through Chinese characters. Its first recorded mention is dated to 1443, and its explanatory book appeared in 1446. Earlier writing practices called Idu, Hyangchal and Gugyeol adapted Chinese characters to represent Korean in different settings, including administration, poetry and reading aids for Chinese texts. Hangul later became the main script for Korean.

Questions people ask
1Why does 챲 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
