What 뜭 means
One Hangul block joins a beginning, a vowel, and an ending.
Its exact parts are ᄄ at the start, ᅳ in the middle, and ᆬ at the end. The Unicode name uses “ddeunj” for this block; that label identifies its spelling, not a word definition.
Why did Hangul need a new script?
To let Korean be written directly in its own script.
Before Hangul, Korean writers often used Chinese characters, which did not represent Korean speech directly. King Sejong created the new script in 1443; the book Hunminjeongeum, published in 1446, explained its purpose and principles. Those dates belong to Hangul and its guide, not to this block.

Questions people ask
1Why does 뜭 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
