What 뜑 means
Its letters fill Hangul's initial, middle, and final positions. The input forms are ㄸ for the initial consonant, ㅠ for the vowel, and ㄵ for the final consonant pair. These component letters are called jamo. Together, they spell one syllable; 뜑 does not have a word meaning by itself.
Hangul's block pattern belongs to the writing system announced in 1443 as Hunminjeongeum for the Korean kingdom of Joseon. A 1446 book with that name explained how consonants and vowels fit together; those dates describe the writing system and its guide, not the first recorded use of this particular syllable.
