What 띤 means

It is 띠다 before a noun. Korean 띠다 can mean to carry a duty or show a color, feeling, or quality. 미소 띤 얼굴 means “a smiling face”; 열띤 토론, “a heated debate.”

Hangul was created in 1443 for easier Korean writing; its principles appeared in the 1446 book Hunminjeongeum. It became an official script in 1894; Japanese colonial rule began in 1910 and restricted Korean writing.

Why is 띤 a box on my screen?

fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
