What 까 means
까 alone is a syllable, not a word with one translation.
It combines ㄲ, a tense Korean k sound, with the open a vowel ㅏ. Read the whole word or ending: -ㄹ까? can express a question, uncertainty, or suggestion; 그러니까 means “so” or “in other words.” In 까다, 까 is part of a verb rather than a question ending.
How do I type 까?
Switch to Korean input and enter ㄲ, then ㅏ.
On the standard two-set desktop layout, press Shift+R, then K; the input method joins the letters as 까. On a phone, enable Korean input and enter ㄲ followed by ㅏ; key positions vary by keyboard.
The conjoining jamo ᄁ + ᅡ can represent the same syllable, though some apps leave the parts separate. Fonts can also arrange the parts differently inside the square without changing the syllable.
Hangul was designed for writing Korean
The first recorded notice of Hangul dates to 1443; the explanatory book Hunminjeongeum followed in 1446. The alphabet was designed to make Korean easier to write and learn than older methods that adapted Chinese characters for Korean, including Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal. After the late 16th century, Hangul also spread practical knowledge through wider print. These milestones trace the script’s history, not the first appearance of 까.
까 has no politeness level by itself; tone comes from the complete word or ending.
Do not translate 까 alone as “question”; the same syllable also appears inside words.

Not by entering the Latin spelling on the standard two-set layout: its keys map to fixed Korean letter positions, not the sound spelling kka.
