What 껏 means

The -껏 suffix makes Korean adverbs: 마음껏 means “to your heart’s content,” 힘껏 “with all your strength,” and 이제껏 “until now.”
껏 and 까지 share an older endpoint element
A 15th-century form behind 마음껏 joined a noun to an older word for “end.” That endpoint sense broadened into -껏’s meanings of extent and duration. 까지 (“up to/until”) shares that older element.
