What 꼯 means
It is a syllable block, not a word with a fixed meaning.
The jamo inside 꼯—the Korean letters arranged in a syllable block—are ᄁ ᅩ ᆪ: an initial consonant, a vowel, and a final consonant cluster. “Ggogs” is the Unicode name's spelling of that structure, not a translation of a Korean word.
On its own, 꼯 does not identify a complete Korean word. A Korean IME (Korean input software) combines its letters into this block.
Why was Hangul created?
So Korean could be written directly and the alphabet learned more easily.
The earliest official record appears in 1443; a manuscript called Hunminjeongeum, published in 1446, explained the alphabet's design. Before Hangul, systems such as Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal adapted Chinese characters to represent Korean.
Hangul later appeared in Buddhist and Confucian books, practical writing, letters, and literature. In 1894, it became Korea's official national writing system, after official documents had remained predominantly in Chinese characters. This is Hangul's history as a writing system; 꼯 is one syllable block within it.
In Korean writing, it is one syllable block; alone, it gives too little context for a complete word.
If it arrives alone, ask what Korean word it belongs to.
