What 꿃 means
It spells one Korean syllable; context supplies its word meaning. Hangul is the Korean writing system, and its blocks group letters into syllables. 꿃 combines initial consonant ㄲ, vowel ㅜ, and final cluster ㄼ.
The two consonants in ㄼ form a compound final, called 겹받침 in Korean.
How did Hangul's syllable blocks develop?
It follows Hangul’s syllable-block design for writing Korean. Hangul was developed under King Sejong to represent Korean speech more directly than Chinese characters could. The first recorded mention of 훈민정음, the original name of the script, appears in the Sejong Sillok, King Sejong’s official chronicle, in 1443; an explanatory book with that name was published in 1446.
꿃 follows the same first-consonant–vowel–final-consonant pattern. Older Korean also has syllables built with obsolete letters; these can be written as sequences of jamo, the individual letters grouped into a Hangul block.
