Hangul syllable 뀁

1026/11172

뀁 is a Hangul syllable block in Korean text, not a reaction; context shows its place in a word. Hangul was recorded in 1443 and explained in 1446 as an easier way to write Korean. In Joseon, people used it in Korean-language letters and literature alongside classical Chinese. Idu, Hyangchal and Gugyeol were earlier systems using Chinese characters for Korean, not variants of this block.

Text symbol

What 뀁 means

It is a Korean text syllable, not an emoji.

A Hangul block combines an initial consonant, a vowel and a final consonant. A Korean IME composes ㄲ ㅞ ㅂ into 뀁; Unicode normalization can store the same reading as separate basic Hangul letters called jamo.

Fonts may shift the parts' placement and proportions without changing the character.
