What 꼌 means
Its role is to provide one syllable within a Korean word.
Hangul was created in 1443–1446 to make Korean writing more accessible. It offered an alternative to Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal, methods that adapted Chinese characters to write Korean. The script was called Hunminjeongeum, eonmun, and later gukmun; the name Hangeul was widely used by 1928.
