What 곃 means
It contributes one Korean syllable, not a complete word or message.
“Gyeoh” is the Latin-letter form used in this syllable’s character name. Its three jamo (small Hangul letters) are ᄀ at the start, ᅧ as the vowel, and ᇂ at the end.
Why was Hangul created?
To make Korean easier to write.
King Sejong and scholars at his court devised Hangul in 1443 and presented it in 1446 in a guide titled 훈민정음 (“Correct Sounds for the Instruction of the People”). Korean writing had relied heavily on Chinese characters, which did not fit Korean speech neatly and left ordinary people with little access to writing. The letters were grouped into syllable blocks partly so Hangul could sit beside Chinese characters on a page.
Some scholars propose that Hangul’s design was influenced by the Mongol-era Phags-pa script, a square-shaped writing system; that connection remains debated. It concerns the alphabet’s history, not a special meaning of 곃.

Questions people ask
1Why does 곃 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
