What 혓 means
It is a Hangul block inside Korean words, not a chat symbol.
혓 carries the 혀 (“tongue”) element in compounds: 혓바닥 is the surface of the tongue, and 혓바늘 is the standard sai-siot spelling example. In 혓바닥 the batchim changes the sound, so the block is read through the whole word.
It is ㅎ ㅕ final ㅅ, an evolved Hangul block from 1443 and 1446, when Hangul was created and promulgated for Korean speech. Normalization can expose those jamo. As of 2026-09-08, no independent emblematic meaning surfaced.
Neutral Korean orthography, not a chat reaction.
Do not use 혓 alone for 혀; it belongs inside compounds.
