What 즐 means
It can mean “enjoy yourself,” or sarcastically “leave the chat.” In 2005, Korea's National Institute of Korean Language traced the slang to 즐겁다 (“pleasant”) and 즐기다 (“enjoy”); it could tell someone to leave a chatroom.
Why does 즐 appear as one block?
It combines Korean letter components into one syllable. Hangul was devised in 1443; Hunminjeongeum, the text explaining its design, appeared in 1446. To type 즐 on a Korean keyboard, enter the starting consonant, vowel, and final consonant; the input method assembles them. Unicode can store 즐 as one block or as an equivalent sequence of component letters (jamo).
In 2005, Korean chat slang ranged from friendly to dismissive.
즐 can sound rude in chat: a 2005 use told someone to leave.

Questions people ask
1Why does 즐 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
