Text symbol

What 쭿 means

Use Korean input: starting consonant, vowel, then ending consonant.

On the standard two-set layout, press ShiftW for ㅉ, N then J for ㅝ, and G for final ㅎ. The input method combines them into 쭿; Latin key labels vary across layouts.

Unicode can store 쭿 as one syllable block or as three joining letters, 쭿. NFC (combined form) and NFD (decomposed form) can switch between these equivalent representations, so the stored sequence may differ while the text looks the same.

What does 쭿 mean on its own?

On its own, it has no established standalone meaning.

Read 쭿 as one Korean syllable block; a surrounding word supplies its lexical meaning. As of 2026-09-13, no standalone Korean word, slang meaning, or chat-reaction use is established for this exact syllable.

If someone sends it alone, treat it as an unexplained Korean character or ask what they meant. Inside Korean writing, read the complete word.

Why are Hangul syllables written in blocks?

Hangul groups its letters into a square for each syllable.

Hangul was created in 1443 and explained in the Hunminjeongeum, a guide published in 1446. It arranges letters for a syllable into starting-consonant, vowel, and optional ending-consonant positions, while the letters work alphabetically.

The square layout reflects Chinese-character presentation. Hangul appeared alongside Chinese characters, called Hanja, in mixed writing. Its public role shifted with national-script reform in the late 19th century. After 1945, North and South Korea followed different writing paths; Hangeul-only writing became dominant in South Korea through the 1990s.

A bare 쭿 in chat reads as an unexplained Korean syllable, not a shared reaction.

Do not send it alone expecting a reaction meaning.

1

Why does 쭿 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
