What 쨘 means
It is one Korean syllable formed from three Hangul letters. Hangul stacks letters into blocks: 쨘 combines initial consonant ᄍ, vowel ᅣ and final consonant ᆫ. For a Korean reveal like “ta-da!”, the familiar interjection is 짠. Fonts may shift the components’ placement, shape or size without changing the character.
Hangul was developed in 1443 and promulgated in 1446 to widen Korean literacy. Before Hangul, Korean writing included Hanja (Chinese characters) and Idu (a system that used Chinese characters to write Korean). After 1446, Hangul appeared in translations, Buddhist works, practical manuals, primers and literature. The Phags-pa script is a debated design reference, not a direct ancestor.

1Why does 쨘 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
