What 죎 means
죎 is a Korean Hangul syllable block, not a complete word. Its Unicode name describes three Hangul letters, called jamo: the initial ᄌ, vowel ᅬ, and final ᆱ. That tells you how the block is built; it does not translate a Korean word. Meaning comes from the full Korean word containing it.
Hangul was developed in the 15th century to represent Korean speech in a system suited to its sounds and grammar, make reading and writing accessible to more people, and support learning foreign languages, including Chinese. A court record from December 1443 says King Sejong created 28 letters. Hunminjeongeum, the book explaining the writing system, was completed in 1446.
Hangul's syllable-block design also dates to the 15th century: consonant and vowel letters are arranged together as one syllable. Unicode's set of modern Hangul blocks, with one encoded character per syllable, follows Korea's KS C 5601 standard from 1992. Older Korean writing from before 1933 and Old Korean can use separate jamo sequences instead of these modern blocks.
How do you type 죎?
Use a Korean input method that supports Hangul composition. Enter the jamo in order—ᄌ, ᅬ, then ᆱ—and the input method can assemble them as 죎.
The composed and decomposed forms are canonically equivalent, but software may count or match them differently until text is normalized. Unicode NFC, the composed form, stores 죎 as one syllable character; NFD, the decomposed form, stores 죎 as three jamo.
A font draws the syllable in a square cell, but the placement and proportions of its parts can vary. That changes the glyph's appearance, not the character.
Neutral as a text syllable; the surrounding Korean word supplies its meaning and tone.
Its Unicode name describes the syllable's parts; it does not translate a Korean word.

1Why does 죎 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
