What 쥑 means
By itself, 쥑 does not settle a word-level meaning.
Hangul writes Korean syllables as blocks. 쥑 combines ㅈ as its opening consonant, ㅟ as its vowel, and ㄱ as its final consonant. The longer spelling 쥑이다 begins with this block; the next section explains how it relates to 죽이다.
Hangul was devised in 15th-century Korea as a way to write Korean speech with its own script. Before it, Korean writing used Chinese characters and the older idu practice, which adapted those characters to Korean. Hangul’s original 28-letter design was recorded in 1443 and explained in 1446 in Hunminjeongeum, a guide to the new script. A Korean oral-literature transcript dated 1980 records 쥑이다; that marks one recorded use, not the word’s beginning.
What does 쥑이다 mean?
쥑이다 is a regional form of 죽이다, “to kill.”
A 1987 Korean dialect study records a vowel shift from ㅜ in 죽 to ㅟ in 쥑. A 2022 dialect column from Gyeongnam (South Gyeongsang Province, Korea) also uses the full word to praise something as “really good.” The sentence and region determine which reading fits.
Neutral as a syllable block; the full word and its setting provide the reading.
A bare 쥑 does not mean “really good”; that praise is documented for 쥑이다 in Gyeongnam usage (2022).

1Why does 쥑 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
