What 쟽 means
It is one Hangul syllable; its Korean word gives it meaning. Its jamo are ㅈ at the start, ㅒ as the vowel, and ㅌ at the end. A jamo is a Korean letter part; Hangul places these parts together in a block.
How do I type 쟽?
Use a Korean IME to enter the jamo in order. A Korean input method editor (IME) assembles Hangul letter parts as you type: enter ㅈ, then ㅒ, then ㅌ. The Latin spelling “jyaet” names the syllable; it is not a key sequence, so typing it on a Latin keyboard will not compose the block.
Hangul's first notice is dated 1443
Hangul was created as a writing system for Korean, intended to fit the language and broaden literacy and communication. An explanatory book called Hunminjeongeum appeared in 1446.
A 2009 comparative study discusses a possible relationship between the Phags-pa script and the writing system described in Hunminjeongeum. The proposed connection is between scripts, not evidence that this syllable descends from a Phags-pa character.
Neutral as Korean writing; the surrounding word supplies its meaning.

Questions people ask
1Why does 쟽 sometimes show as separate jamo?
It can be the same syllable in a different representation: Unicode allows the precomposed block and an equivalent sequence of conjoining jamo, letter forms that join into Hangul blocks. A font or app may show the sequence as separate pieces; the display alone does not change the reading.
