Hangul Syllable Kweot

9238/11172

퀕 is a Hangul syllable block, but as of 2026 it has no established standalone chat meaning. In a Korean word, its role comes from the surrounding spelling; sent alone, treat it as a character sample or input test. A Korean IME composes the block from its component letters.

What 퀕 means

It is a Korean syllable block; its role depends on the surrounding spelling.

Hangul is the Korean alphabet, which groups letters into syllable blocks. 퀕 begins with the consonant ㅋ, has the compound vowel ㅝ in the middle, and ends with ㅌ.

The same syllable can be stored as one precomposed block or as a sequence of component letters called jamo. Unicode normalization treats those forms as equivalent; fonts draw their visible shapes, so the appearance can vary without changing the text.

How do I type 퀕?

On the standard Korean keyboard, type z n j x in a Korean IME. The keys enter ㅋ, ㅜ, ㅓ, and ㅌ; the input method combines ㅜ and ㅓ as the vowel ㅝ, then composes 퀕. An IME is software that turns key presses into Hangul syllable blocks.

Hangul was devised to make Korean easier to write and learn than the Chinese-character systems used in formal writing. A court record from late 1443 is the earliest secure account of its creation, and the 1446 guide 훈민정음 explains the script's design.

Before Hangul, Korean methods called Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal adapted Chinese characters to mark Korean grammar, annotate texts, and write poetry in everyday Korean. Hangul's public role grew gradually: Chinese characters remained dominant in formal writing until the 1894 reform gave Hangul an official role. Japanese colonial rule restricted Korean language use from 1910–1945. After liberation, North and South Korea developed distinct spelling conventions.

Literal, low-context, and technical; it fits discussion of the written character or a Korean input test.

A lone block can read as stray input; include the Korean word around it when you mean a word, not a character test.

Why is 퀕 a box?

A font or text setup without Korean glyph coverage can show a box. A Korean-capable font should display the syllable; the underlying character stays the same.

Why is 퀕 a box on my screen?

fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
