What 켝 means
Enter ㅋ, then ㅕ, then ㄱ in a Korean IME.
A Korean input method editor (IME) combines those letter components into one syllable block; the physical keys vary by keyboard layout. Here, ㅋ is the initial consonant, ㅕ the vowel, and ㄱ the final consonant.
What does 켝 mean?
On its own, it gives a syllable, not a complete translation.
켝 writes one Hangul syllable. In a Korean word, translate the whole word around it; the block by itself does not tell you the word’s full meaning.
Hangul groups Korean letters into syllable blocks. A recognizable ancestor of 켝 appears in the 1448 Dongguk Jeongun, a guide to Korean readings of Chinese characters (Hanja). It records 켝 for the entries 綌 and 喫; the 1527 Hunmong Jahoe gives 격 and 긱 for those entries, forms retained in the 1796 Jeonun Okpyeon. The records trace changing readings for those entries, not a modern conversational definition for 켝.
Why does 켝 split into pieces?
The syllable is shown as separate Hangul components.
Unicode represents Hangul syllables as precomposed blocks or as sequences of position-specific letters. Fonts and apps vary in how they shape those sequences, so one syllable can appear split even when it represents the same text.

fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
