What 넾 means
It contributes one syllable; the surrounding Korean word supplies the meaning.
Its Latin-letter romanization is nep. On Dubeolsik, Korea’s two-set keyboard layout, the three inputs correspond to S-P-V. Fonts can change the components’ placement, shape and size inside the block without changing the character.
Hangul was created in 1443 and explained in Hunminjeongeum, a guide published in 1446 to make Korean writing accessible. In 1894, it became Korea’s official national writing system. Older methods such as Idu, Gugyeol and Hyangchal adapted Chinese characters to write Korean; they belong to Korean writing history, but they are not parts of 넾.
How do I type 넾?
Enter its three Hangul parts in order with a Korean input method.
On Dubeolsik, press S, then P, then V: the input method combines ㄴ, ㅔ and ㅍ into 넾. Unicode can represent the same syllable as one precomposed block or as separate joining letters.
Neutral as a written syllable; by itself, it gives little context.
A lone 넾 does not establish the sender’s intent; read the surrounding Korean text.
