What 뇘 means
It is one Hangul syllable, not a complete message. Outside Korean text, no standalone chat reading is established as of 2026.
Hangul was created in 1443 for Korean speech and wider literacy. Its 1446 guide, Hunminjeongeum, explained the script's purpose; earlier methods—Idu, Gugyeol and Hyangchal—adapted Chinese characters to write Korean.
뇘 combines three Hangul component letters, called jamo: ᄂ, ᅬ and ᆳ—an initial consonant, a vowel and a final cluster. Unicode normalization, which standardizes equivalent text, can expose them separately.
Neutral in Korean words or names; isolated, it is unexplained Korean text.
Don't infer the sender's mood from this block alone.

Questions people ask
1Why does 뇘 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
