What 녮 means
Its exact Hangul components are ᄂ, ᅨ and ᆹ. These jamo are Korean letters grouped by role: ᄂ begins the syllable, ᅨ is the vowel, and ᆹ is the final consonant cluster made from ㅂ and ㅅ.
Why are Hangul syllables written in blocks?
Hangul blocks group the letters of one syllable. Hangul was devised under King Sejong in 1443 to write Korean. Chinese characters were the established written system, but they did not fit Korean speech and grammar neatly. The explanatory book Hunminjeongeum was published in 1446.

Questions people ask
1Why does 녮 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
