What 녯 means
It is an older spelling of 옛, meaning “old” or “former.” Ordinary modern Korean writes the word as 옛. The historical spelling 녯 appears in the fifteenth-century Buddhist translations Seokbosangjeol and Wolinseokbo; a 1632 edition of the Korean text Dusi eonhae also records it.
Its Unicode decomposition is ㄴ + ㅖ + ㅅ: the initial consonant, vowel, and final consonant of one Hangul syllable block.
It reads as historical Korean spelling, so it fits when the older form is intentional.
For ordinary modern Korean, use 옛; 녯 signals an older spelling.
