What 뇼 means
It writes one syllable within a Korean word or name. Hangul is the Korean alphabet; its component letters are called jamo. Unicode’s English label NYOSS describes this block’s construction rather than translating a word: initial consonant ᄂ, vowel ᅭ, and final consonant ᆻ.
Hangul’s design was completed in 1443 and introduced publicly in 1446 through the Hunminjeongeum, a book that explained the letters and showed examples. It offered a more direct way to write Korean than relying on Chinese characters.
How do I type 뇼?
Enter ㄴ, then ㅛ, then ㅆ on a Korean keyboard. A Korean input method joins those typed letters into one block. If they stay separate, enable Hangul composition in the input method.
Unicode text normalization—rules that make equivalent letter sequences behave consistently—can treat the single block 뇼 and the joining-letter sequence 뇼 as equivalent text. Fonts may place, shape, and size the component letters differently without changing the character.
